Rock Creek Ragdolls is certified by The International Cat Association as an “Outstanding Cattery”
Why choose a TICA Outstanding Cattery?
When searching for a your new Ragdoll kitten, there are many breeders that are TICA or CFA registered. Being a TICA Outstanding Cattery places you in an exceptional category of elite breeders. At Rock Creek Ragdolls, we have gone above and beyond just being registered, to obtaining this outstanding designation, ensuring our kittens are raised in the highest-quality environment possible.
This certification is your guarantee that you are working with an ethical, vet-inspected breeder.

What is a TICA Outstanding Cattery?
The International Cat Association (TICA) created the Cattery Evaluation Program to distinguish elite breeders from the rest. To achieve the TICA Outstanding Cattery status, a breeder must pass a rigorous, in-person inspection by a licensed veterinarian and score a minimum score of 75 out of 88 points.
This is not a designation that you can simply pay for membership. It represents a certification that your cats and kittens are being raised with strict guidelines and animal welfare standards.
When the veterinarian inspects our home-based cattery, they evaluate every aspect of our program to ensure we meet the TICA Outstanding Cattery requirements:
- Animal Health & Records: Every cat’s health record, vaccination history, and genetic testing is reviewed for accuracy.
- Cageless Facility Management: Our kittens are raised underfoot. The vet inspects our playroom and living spaces for cleanliness, air quality, and safety.
- Hygiene & High-Quality Nutrition: Our cats and kittens are fed premium diets and have constant access to fresh, clean water in filtered fountains in a sanitized environment.
- Socialization & Enrichment: Unlike “kitten mills,” a TICA Outstanding Cattery focuses on the mental health and wellbeing of the cats, ensuring they are friendly and well-adjusted for their new families.
- Strict Code of Ethics: We sign and uphold the TICA Code of Ethics, promising honesty and professional conduct with every buyer.

Why purchasing from a TICA Outstanding Cattery matters
If a breeder is not a TICA Outstanding Cattery, you have no way of knowing if their facility is clean or if their cats are truly healthy both physically and emotionally.
Choosing an inspected breeder offers you:
Confidence and peace of mind knowing a licensed vet has personally walked through our cattery and examined the cats and kittens living environment. Higher standards of health and hygiene leads to fewer illnesses and stronger immune systems.
